Comal Community Band Music Study Club 2011

OK, this is very late, but I’ve had a bad month… :( More on that later.

This is from the Comal Community Band concert held on February 25 at First Protestant Church for the New Braunfels Music Study Club. This is from the second half of the concert as the first half did not record (i.e., we are missing Wicked and the Sound of Music). I also did not post the songs from the Hill Country Chorus as I’m not a member of their group and I don’t know if they want their music posted.

The Contemptables
Hoagy Carmichael in Concert
Bacharach and David Medley
Slavic Farewell
Salute to the Cinema
Pop and Rock Legends: Neal Diamond
Puenteareas

CCB Concert: 6/27/10 Summer Concert – FUMC

The Comal Community Band performed it’s “Thank You” concert for First United Methodist Church in New Braunfels for the use of Wesley Hall as it’s summer practice facility.

Like my last set of recordings from the Hill Country Community Band, this is recorded from the crowd perspective.  I’m sorry for the lack of volume on the first few songs as the venue was a bit loud at times.

The ZIP file with all of the songs can be downloaded here.

Manhattan Beach
Broadway
Gerona
Big Band Signatures
Florentiner March

CCB Concert: 05-02-10 Stone Oak Presbyterian Church

I have been neglecting posting concert MP3′s lately.  This first batch is from a Comal Community Band Concert at Stone Oak Presbyterian Church on May 2, 2010.  This is perhaps the best set of recordings that I have due to the acoustics of the performance venue.  The second song (Texas Star) has a bit of a problem in the middle due to my recorder being knocked off of my stand.

As always, remember these songs are recorded from my perspective.  Thus the sounds of certain sections will seem to be louder than what you would here in the audience (ahem, trumpets…).

The National Anthem
Texas Star
That’s Entertainment
An American Songbook
The Summit
Swings the Thing
La Calesera
Comal Reflections
The Symphonic Beatles
Karussellbrise
God of our Fathers
Armed Forces – The Pride of America
Stars and Stripes Forever

CCB Concert – Summer Concert

This is the first of several postings for today…

I tried recording our Summer Concert held today (June 28, 2009) at First United Methodist Church using my IPhone 3G.  The results actually turned out pretty good – way better than my original Fuze.  Please note that the perspective of these audio tracks is the same as one would get if you were actually sitting in the band.  So the songs are pretty brass heavy, but everything can be heard.  This also is a test of the Audio Player Plugin for WordPress:

Please note that some songs have a delay before starting. Remember that I need to handle my instrument before starting the recordings… :)

Shenandoah’s Simple Gifts
Chicago Tribune
Rain
The Homefront
Alexander’s Ragtime Band
The National Game March
The Pathfinders of Panama
